The Gold Cost Desalination Plant, based in Tugan, Queensland, produces drinking water via reverse osmosis for the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane.
It can supply around 133 megalitres of water per day, which is the equivalent of 50 Olympic sized swimming pools.
The plant generally operates in standby mode and, if required, can reach 100% capacity in 72 hours to supply up to 600,000 people with drinking water.
Philip Chun have been engaged to provide Essential Services Management consulting for this project.
